Hilary Clinton Bows Out

SWFL NewsThis past Saturday, New York Senator Hilary Clinton finally decided to end her bid for the Democratic Party nomination. While she waited several days following the final primary elections to announce the end to her candidacy, she accepted defeat gracefully and rallied her 18 million plus supporters to back Barrack Obama in his bid for the 2008 Presidential election.

In words that were spoken with dignified eloquence, Clinton told the crowd of supporters present; "You can be so proud that, from now on, it will be unremarkable for a woman to win primary state victories, unremarkable to have a woman in a close race to be our nominee, unremarkable to think that a woman can be the president of the United States. And that is truly remarkable, my friends."

As of this past Thursday, Clinton had taken an opportunity to meet one-on-one with Democratic nominee, Barrack Obama, in Washington, D.C. Following that meeting, the two issued a joint press release stating; "Senator Clinton and Senator Obama met tonight and had a productive discussion about the important work that needs to be done to succeed in November."

While Senator Clinton has long been open to the possibility of being named a running mate on the Obama ticket, Senator Obama's nominating committee has yet to announce any recommendations.
