If you're a newer resident of Cape Coral, it may interest you to know that there are a lot of fun activities to be found here in our fair city. Whether you're seeking recreation, cultural or family fun, you'll find that Cape Coral offers something for everyone's tastes.

In keeping with our tradition of keeping you up-to-date, we want to make you aware of as many noteworthy venues as possible. Below is a short list to which we will, certainly, add more.

Arts / Culture -

You can always find something going on at the Cape Coral Arts Studio Located at 1355 Coronado Parkway, Classes in Arts and Crafts, workshops for all age groups take place year round. They also have an on-site Fine Arts Gallery and Gift Shop make this a great place to take a tour. Give them a call at (239) 574-0802 for more information.

Live Theatre which features local talent is always a special treat. You can find it at the Cultural Park Theatre Company, Inc.They are located in the middle of Cape Coral, convenient to anywhere at 528 Cultural Park Boulevard. During their regular season, they offer a selection of plays and musicals of new as well as classic material with something to fit everyone's tastes. Get in touch with them at (239) 772-5862.

From the prior location, a visitor to Cape Coral would be remiss to not also check-out the Cape Coral Historical Museum. Located in Cultural Park's Lois Herbert Memorial Rose Garden at 544 Cultural Park Boulevard, the museum is the quintessential destination for discovering Cape Coral's unique history. They offer group tours, shells and fossils, antiques, artifacts, relics as well as rotating exhibits and collections on loan.

Family Recreation-

Mike Greenwell's Family Fun Park is a long standing Cape favorite fun place. Your choices here are nearly endless as they have miniature golf, batting cages, four different go-cart tracks, an arcade, paintball park and a snack bar. Plan to spend the better part of a day here, as it's hard to do it all, but you'll want to try ! They are located at 35 Pine Island Road in the central part of the Cape. If getting wet in an effort to cool off is more your speed, then you must be sure to check out Sunsplash Family Waterpark where you can 'Slide into Adventure' along numerous waterslides like Cape Fear, the Zoom Flume, the Fun-L Tunnel and, of course, the awesome 427-foot Electric Slide. They also feature a Tot Spot for the little ones, or if slow is more your pace, the Main Stream River Ride. With the Calypso Cafe, lockers, and even lounge chair rental, you're certain to find some relaxation here. Find Sun Splash at 400 Santa Barbara Boulevard just south of Pine Island Road.

In consideration of where to go and take the family for a day's worth of fun, we felt the need to add a few places we've overlooked. To be fair, within our southwest Florida community, many places worth visiting are just outside of Cape Coral's city limits. For starters, a great place to spend the day and evening is The Shell Factory and Nature Park. When you visit this fun spot, you'll find they have a Nature Park, Petting Zoo, tons of Shells, places to eat, a fun park with Miniature Golf, Bumper Boats, a coffee house and, after dark, you won't want to miss Waltzing Waters, a premier attraction in southwest Florida.
