Happy Birthday To Us !

Greatest CapeWe're celebrating this week ! It's our birthday and we're a year older. We're actually a bit older than our June 8th launch date suggests, but we've decided our launch date is the official day we came into public existence. During the course of these past 12 months, so much has happened that we wanted to stop and reflect on some of our growth and accomplishments.

We're not really sure where the time has gone, but it sure has flown by ! When looking back over the course of the past twelve months, we've seen some substantial growth. As your humble narrator's motto has always been; "More, faster, yesterday, please", we'll continue to do what we've been doing in a similar fashion as we begin our second year of existence.

So whether you've just joined or simply feel like a trip down memory lane, let's look at what has transpired during our first twelve months.

Upon our initial launch, we provided Cape Coral news feeds available to all of our visitors, as well as sports feeds for the members who choose to join us. We must tip our hat to our initial partnership with Cape Coral Weather, as it is still in place providing our visitors and members alike with up-to-the-minute weather conditions for the Cape and all of southwest Florida. Aside from these features, we introduced Private Messaging for our Premium membership.

In July, we introduced the SWFL Arts and Theatre feed for our Premium members. August saw us introduce the Cape Coral Business Directory on Greatest Cape. As we rolled out of last summer, September saw us bring about the Google Interactive Map for our membership.

In October, we added the Stock Market Index for our Premium Members, so they could keep abreast of developments in the DOW, NASDAQ, and S&P 500 during their daily surfing.
December had us introducing the YouTube Video of the Week to our members. My favorite improvement of late last year was December's partnership with the City of Cape Coral's Parks and Recreation Department. We also launched the ever-popular ( and sometimes controversial ) Paradise Ponderings, our editorial column.

By the New Year, popular response necessitated the creation of the YouTube Video of the Week Archives. In February, we began the Health and Well-Being topic within our Greatest Cape article line-up.

As Spring came around, March saw us completing the My Greatest List selection form for our Premium members. April was an eventful month, as well. Mostly because we added the Cape Coral Events - RSS feed to our home page. Then in May, and also because of popular request, we added world and national news to Greatest Cape via the NPR Top Stories feed.

So, as we've come full circle and it's June, we'll let you know that later this month we'll be introducing a Coupons Page to our Business Directory.

We hope the fun, community involvement and membership growth never ends. In case you happen to be one of our site's members, we want to offer our heart felt "Thanks" for your being here. As we've said before, the best is yet to come !
