It is with great pleasure that we introduce to our site's visitors April's Park of the Month. Located east of Del Prado between Hancock Bridge Parkway and Bolado Parkway, Paul Sanborn Park, which opened in January 2008, is the newest addition to the Cape Coral Park system. Beautiful landscaping is one of the many highlights of this unique neighborhood park with over 4,000 plants and one of the only banyan trees in the City.

The park is named in honor of Mr. Paul Sanborn, who has been a resident of Cape Coral for the past 45 years. As one of the charter members of the Cape Coral Rotary Club, Mr. Sanborn is presently the city's official Historian and President of the Cape Coral Historical Society. The Parks & Recreation department is proud to recognize his contribution to the city and, as well, extend his legacy through the namesake of this wonderful new facility.

Aside from the lush vegetation, this new park's amenities include two playgrounds with shade cover, a picnic shelter with an over-sized BBQ pit, picnic tables, too. Additional fitness amenities include a basketball court, horseshoe pits and a walking path.

Next time you find yourself in the central Cape, why not stop by and pay a visit to Paul Sanborn Park ? We're sure you'll be glad you did !
