What's Happening ?
Most of the snowbirds have all flown (or driven) home. Southwest Florida's seasonal visitors are dwindling in number as we approach the summer months here. Many of us have mixed feelings about this. One one hand, it's a welcome relief to the consistent traffic snarls and protracted waiting periods for dining. On the other hand, a big part of southwest Florida's business has left residents to focus on just how the recession has impacted our local economy.Just because our tourist season has ended doesn't mean that nothing is happening. In fact, some might argue that this is the best time of the year !
With all that is happening in and around southwest Florida, some local residents still feel that there is not enough activity here in the summertime. While it may be true that many of our area's yearly festivals and happenings are scheduled for the "season", that is not to say that other events aren't taking place during these warmer months. They are !
Adults, kids and families can find a wealth of fun stuff if they look ! At this point, referencing a good local events calendar is a great place to start. At Greatest Cape, we have one of those..and it's nearly always filled with cool stuff to do ! Each month, we try to make certain that we fill our calendar with activities. A quick check over the past 90 days will prove that to be true. In fact, each month there is something taking place locally almost every day. Most days have several activities and the weekend days are nearly always filled with an even wider variety.
Now that you've found a good place to look for local happenings, why not build yourself a calendar of your own to schedule the events that you "can't miss"? It's more simple than you probably think.
Both members and visitors to our site who have found our Cape Coral Events calendar listings in our site's left-hand column can click upon those event titles to get specifics about that event. Beneath the event details, only members of Greatest Cape will find a little "pencil" picon (picture-icon). If you click upon that pencil, next to the text that reads; "Add to My Calendar", the event details will reload and offer you the opportunity to confirm your new Personal Calendar addition. The text at the top of the re-loaded listing details says; "By adding this event to your calendar you can quickly view only the events you are interested in by clicking "My Calendar" from the User Functions area." Once again, at the bottom of the listing, Click the button that says "Add to my Calendar" and that's it ! You'll be re-directed to your new Personal calendar and given a confirmation message at the top of the page stating that your event has been added.
Now you're on your way...return to the Cape Coral Events calendar often, as it is continuously updated. Your personal calendar will begin to grow...and we'll bet quickly !
