Many new visitors to Greatest Cape have asked me this question. At first, I was a little confused by it, but after some thought...it started to make real sense. One of the luxuries I do not have is the gift of "first sight". I suppose that to put that expression in terms that are easier to understand, I am very familiar with how this site works and exactly where everything lives. The plain fact is that we've got an awful lot of information and links and most first time visitors are left saying; "where do I begin"?
Maybe I am the last one to realize this fact, so, please excuse me. But, since I'm aware now, I think I can give you some ideas to, hopefully, make clear your options.
Well, since you've arrived...maybe you should make yourself a member ? In case you haven't done so, it's a good place to start. First of all, it's free...really ! Secondly, becoming a basic member will allow you access to more information and features !
We'll start there. Underneath the Greatest Cape logo is the Search box. Beneath that is the Random Image block and below that is the all important User Functions block. Within that block are the text fields for "Username" and "Password". After you've signed-up, this is where you'll return each time you log-in.
In order to sign-up, you'll want to click on the words; "New User" right below those text fields within the User Functions block. If you cant' find it, click the blue words "sign-up" above, and that will get you to the same place.
Once you've arrived at the "Register with Greatest Cape!" page, you'll have to provide two pieces of information. One is the Username you select. So if your name is Poindexter, consider using that, as I don't think we have a member by that name yet !
However, something you can remember ( or use other places ) is the obvious choice. After that, simply type a valid and current email address in the "Email" space. After you have taken these steps, click the button below the red words that reads "Register Now!"
After you've clicked, our servers will mail you a Welcome message with a Password included. It will be something like, "A1B2C3". Whatever it is, simply return to the index or home page and log-in with the username you selected and type in the password that you were emailed. Now, ( drum roll, please ) press the button below those text fields you've just filled out that says; "Login". That's it, you're registered !
Once you do log-in, you'll notice the home page will look a bit different than before.
Well, that is enough to impart within this particular article. However, when you've logged-in and surfed around, you will, most likely, want to log out. You can always do that by returning to that User Functions block where you logged-in..and clicking on the words 'Log Out", which is what I'll do..right about this time each day.
